Spring Vibes: At the Crossroads of Classical Music, Jazz, and Folk

SATURDAY MARCH 2, 2024

Get ready for a mind-blowing musical extravaganza that blends the timeless elegance of classical, the soulful improvisation of jazz, and the traditional folk melodies in our own interpretation.


The program includes jazz standards, works of pre-jazz era composers with a huge impact on jazz genre, classical music influenced by jazz, and our own variations on the themes of Ukrainian and Polish folk songs. Together in one concert we will explore different dialects of the unifying language of music that brings together cultures and people.

The Forest Tale

The Story of Revival of Nature and Human Spirit

PNW Kobzar Project in collaboration with Aquilon Music Festival presents a concert of Ukrainian, European and American chamber music dedicated to the themes of revival of nature and human spirit. This  moving and engaging program includes traditional and modern  melodies played on a bandura (the iconic Ukrainian psaltery), art songs by romantic and contemporary composers, chamber music for  piano and classical guitar, and jazz improvisations. The music  by Francesco Santoliquido and Claude Debussy  will be performed alongside the Ukrainian  chamber music of the 19th and 20th centuries  by Mykola  Lysenko, Borys Lyatoshynsky, and Stanislav Liudkevych. We proudly present the US premiere of the classical  guitar  suite The Old Forest Tales by Oleg Boyko and the selected art songs by Myroslav Volynsky.

Summertime Jazz, Tango & More

Gala concert of music from different countries and of different genres, Wed Jun 21 @7:30 pm at Resonance Events, downtown Bellevue

We are delighted to present to our audience  jazz variations of American and Ukrainian songs and classical works  in jazz style. We also bring back to life tango tunes and songs, some of them were performed back in 1930s in Lviv..

Yet, our program will be not limited only to jazz and tango. Each concert will have a special guest performer presenting the music of his home country.

Independence Day of Ukraine Gala Concert

Join us to celebrate the Independence Day of Ukraine, the land of courageous people, and discover their music!

PNW Kobzar Project team in collaboration with Aquilon Music Festival will present masterpieces of three centuries of Ukrainian music by performance of timeless works by composers Mykola Lysenko, Borys Lyatoshinsky,  and Myroslav Skoryk among others. You will also hear Ukrainian tango songs by Bohdan Vesolovsky and our own jazz variations of popular Ukrainian melodies performed on a bandura, traditional Ukrainian instrument. Our program will  also include works of the contemporary Ukrainian composers and friends of our project - Myroslav Volynsky and Oleg Bezborodko.

Musical Delicacies - Muzyczne Rarytasy - Музичнi Ласощi on Friday, November 17 in Tacoma

Romantic classical music of Poland and Ukraine

Indulge yourself with special musical treats of romantic works by Polish and Ukrainian composers.The Polish word Rarytasy (originated from Latin rāritās) has multiple meanings as delicacies, curiosities, and rarities. The romantic music of Poland and Ukraine in our recital unites all three meanings. We will present musical delicacies in the form of art songs and chamber music  to please your musical taste buds.

The word Smakolyk in both Polish and Ukrainian languages means delicious food to enjoy and cheer up one’s mood. Romantic classical music all around the worl

Romantic music provides the best solace on gloomy rainy days - that’s what we think at PNW Northwest Project. We will be happy to cheer your mood  up  with some musical delicacies  from around the world.  

In our program:  

Art songs by Gioachino Antonio Rossini,  Frederic Chopin, Maurice Ravel, Francis Poulenc, Mykola Lysenko, Tadeusz Baird.  

Songs by George Gershwin and Cole Porter
